After what seemed like a whole day, I finally finished my first human vector. I'm extremely proud enough to start a group orgy. I hated HATED HATED HATED doing the hair, so that's why it looks ridiculously weird. I know the background is kind of too much but it looked really empty so yeah, I'll also submit a nonbackgroundless ish..thingy ish.
FINALLY!!!! OMFG! the face, the nose, the neck, the hair without the outlines on it!!! Excellente!!!Notice my lame attempt at Spanish there. im so blown away that i start complimenting in Spanish. hehehe. first favorites, bitch!
Well this is a very good change from your other vectors' quality. You've managed the likeness to Angelina while keeping it very simple; she looks great.
Now unto the crits:
The left eye (her right) looks really weird, probably because the shadow under it is badly done.
The neck area is rendered differently than the face. It's more abstract and loose and it doesn't work that well with her face. But I think I like the rendering better that way.
I'm really not sure about the background overlapping with her. I'm also very not sure about the background. The blue stripes are not bad, but they should have been curvy and smooth.
The background kind of ruins it, but it's still MUCH better than every other vector you've done. Like, A LOT better.
But like I said to that other guy in that other thread, at one point you should stop doing vectors over pictures like that. It's probably great for practice, but you'll have to agree it's not very original, and it doesn't help you develop your own style.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
